We do what we do, day in and day out, and have improved the performance and maintenance of thousands of chimneys in Kentucky and Indiana to make them safer and make sure fireside experiences are memorable for all the right reasons. One of the biggest threats to that enjoyment and safety is level three glazed creosote, which is a hardened, sticky, odoriferous deposit that occurs when firewood burns incompletely. Causes may include a lack of air supply, unseasoned wood, or cool chimney temperatures. Fortunately, there is now a way to remove this damaging, dangerous, malodorous deposit — Poultice Creosote Remover PCR. PCR works in a unique way that allows us to remove level three glazed creosote from the smoke chamber and the flue tiles or stainless steel liner. As the product dries, it begins to flake and fall off of the flue walls or smoke chamber, taking the creosote down with it.
